How to Apply

Summit Summer Research Camp at Columbia University and our Premium Online Summer Research One-on-One program are very competitive, but the application process is straightforward.

01

Fill Out Application

Fill out your personal information, parent/guardian information, school information, and test scores, and select your favorite programs and research topics in order of preference.
02

Email

Emails are critical. We communicate with all students, parents, and recommenders (professors, researchers, teachers, counselors, school officials, etc.) primarily through email. While we do communicate via phone calls, we follow up through email, so you must have a working, verified email to sign up. We require institutional emails (.edu, .gov, etc.) from recommenders. Official email means recommenders must use their institutional emails for correspondence. For instance, teachers, counselors, college researchers, or professors must use their school or .edu accounts. If you have a mentor working for a tech company, his or her official company email is acceptable.
03

Test Scores and Transcripts

If you took the PSAT, SAT, or ACT, please input your scores. We accept super scores. If you cannot get your official school transcript, a copy of an unofficial copy is acceptable.
04

Summer Research Programs

We are offering only one research program this summer. Please select the "Summit Research for Young Scholars in Summer 2024."
05

Essays

We have one required essay, and one second, optional essay. Both essays should be no longer than 300 words and detail your academic achievements, research interests, and future plans.
06

Next Step

After the submission of your application, our team of Summit professionals meticulously reviews each submission. If further information is required, we will promptly reach out to you. Our decision-making process is swift, and once accepted, Summit will assign dedicated mentors to guide and support you throughout your journey.

Financial Aid

If you would like to apply for Financial Aid or a need-based scholarship, please check yes for the last question of your application. We will reach out to your parents or guardian shortly and discuss your family's financial status and eligibility for our programs.
If you feel like explaining your financial situation further, please use the optional essay space.
Financial aid and need-based scholarships are limited, so you may go through a more competitive admission process by requesting financial aid.
